Mark Segger
Mark Segger is an in demand percussionist/drummer, composer, educator, and clinician across Alberta. Mark plays a wide range of styles including jazz, classical, popular, and rock music across Canada, the United States, and on Holland America Cruise Lines. He has had the opportunity to perform with internationally acclaimed New York jazz trumpeter Tim Hagans, Canadian jazz icons Dave Restivo and Gene Smith, and many of Edmonton’s finest musicians.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Drums from St. Francis Xavier University, a music diploma from Grant MacEwan College, is an alumnus of The King’s University College, and has been accepted into the Master of Music in Jazz program at the University of Toronto for September 2007. His current engagements include regular performances in jazz trios and quartets as a leader and sideman, The Urbanites, musical theatre productions Urinetown, Narnia, Crazy for You, and the Full Monty, and various other engagements playing many percussion instruments.
He played his first performance with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in their Robbins Pops series under conductor Jack Everly this April.
